This resource is for the General Practice Team; the resource is divided into sections and is intended to help Nurses, General Practitioners and Managers explore the role of the General Practice Nurse in terms of scope, level and educational need. It will therefore particularly support the development of: Individual roles, Skill mix, Educational need and personal development, Job profiles and descriptions.

It can be used both as an initial document at the time of recruitment of new nurses and as a resource by the team for personal development planning, appraisal or system and team change.
