Returning to General Practice after a break? All deaneries welcome applications from doctors who are returning to general practice after a break and may be able to fund such doctors for a period of training. There are three options available (http://www.gprecruitment.org.uk/vacancies/returningtable.htm) and you should contact either head of the GP school Bill Irish or the local Associate Director http://www.gpschoolseverninstitute.org.uk/19.htm for advice. There are currently severe financial restrictions on these schemes. Flexible Training...The opportunity to train flexibly or part-time is available in all deaneries (http://www.gprecruitment.org.uk/vacancies/flexible.htm) Applications are made through the national recruitment office (http://www.gprecruitment.org.uk/index.html). More information is on the GP school website http://www.gpschoolseverninstitute.org.uk/392.htm Returners Scheme...This scheme is for Doctors who have had a substantial break (more than 12 months) from general practice or been working in another branch of medicine post VTS qualification. Applications are made through the national recruitment office (http://www.gprecruitment.org.uk/index.html). More information is on the GP school website http://www.gpschoolseverninstitute.org.uk/394.htm Retainers Scheme...Doctors who have well founded personal reasons for wanting to work in a lesser capacity in general practice for a set period of time may wish to apply to join the doctors' retainer scheme (http://www.gprecruitment.org.uk/vacancies/returningtable.htm). More information is on the GP school website http://www.gpschoolseverninstitute.org.uk/385.htm
