The old Severn Deanery was formed in 2007 when the Severn & Wessex Deanery (which only started in 2005) was split and merged into other deaneries.

The deaneries are:

The current GP school now known as The Severn School of Primary Care web site is  http://primarycare.severndeanery.org/

The southern half is the Peninsula (ie Devon & Cornwall) and is at http://www.peninsuladeanery.nhs.uk/

NHS Education South Central
The old Wessex deanery is now part of NESC for the geographical area covered by the South Central Strategic Health Authority. http://www.nesc.nhs.uk/
