This is the second year of the new Modernising Medical careers programme in the GP school. There have been lots of other changes in the last few years that have been a challenge, but the scheme should be starting to settle down this year.

• "Guide to Postgraduate Specialty Training in the UK" (also known as the "Gold Guide") provides the framework for the new postgraduate specialty training programmes (including general practice) that started in August 2007. It is primarily aimed at Postgraduate Deans and their training networks, Medical Royal Colleges/Faculties, employers and others involved in specialty training, but Trainees may find aspects of it provide useful information about their training.
