MISSION STATEMENT
LEARNING FOR LIFE: DEVELOPING THE PERSON
Education for General
Practice promotes growth in self awareness and sensitivity, encourages
attitudes that enable learning to continue throughout life and enables the
acquisition of the necessary skills and knowledge to be a competent General
Practitioner.
The Bristol training scheme
incorporates residential courses, small group work and experiential learning
to help facilitate continuing personal growth alongside the professional
development of the doctor. The Hospital and the Practice components of the
Scheme are designed to provide experience of the skills and knowledge needed
in General Practice, and within the Registrar year day-release programme we
provide time, support and encouragement for Summative Assessment and the
MRCGP examination.
In an environment that is
challenging and exciting, the scheme enables personal growth and
professional development to occur simultaneously, setting the foundations
for life-long learning, and enabling the ability to respond to a changing
personal and professional life. |
